Who’s Who

DAVE PICKETT

Dave leads the eldership here at TCC. After completing training at Regents Theological College he came to Thundersley in 1994. He passionately believes in having ‘adventures with God’ and believes that life with Jesus is full of exciting opportunities to serve God and enjoy living out the Christian life.

Born and brought up in SE London, he joined the Royal Marines in 1974 and served as a RM Commando for 12 years seeing active service in N. Ireland and the Falklands War. After the Falklands War he began to have some thoughts and questions about the Christian faith which led him ultimately to put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He is married to Lisa, who he met at Teen Challenge. They have two young daughters.

RICHARD KEELER – TCC SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY WORKER

Richard Keeler, TCC Schools Worker has been working with local schools since September 2003 …. ‘I have had the privilege of working in our local secondary and primary schools meeting hundreds of young people and explaining to them the Christian faith, through assemblies, lessons and lunch time activities. No two days are ever the same, and it is fun to hear different people opinions on Christianity and God, my work is to express how Christianity is relevant to young people and that God has a personal interest in their lives.’

DAVE TURNER – YOUTH WORKER

Hi my name is David Turner. I’m 21 and the youth worker at Thundersley Congregational Church. I’m quite into my photography and like my football and I’m an Arsenal fan.

I have been working at the Church since January 2008 as youth worker having previously doing a year out with the church during 2006-2007. My job includes organizing youth clubs, events and trips away, as well as being responsible for most of the teaching and pastoral care of the young people.

I have a great team who work with me, and a great bunch of young people that I lead. Although at times it’s a tough job, I enjoy it immensely and wouldn’t swap it for any other job in the world.
