Boys Brigade
Bucking national trends for waning interest in uniformed organisations the Boys and Girls Brigade at TCC is a vibrant youth work attracting lots of children.
THE 6TH SOUTH EAST ESSEX BOYS’ BRIGADE
The BB meet on a Friday evenings between 5:30 and 9:45 and our Sections are as follows:
Anchor Boys (boys aged 6 8)
Led by David Turner, starts at 5:30 and finishes at 6:30
Junior Section (boys aged 8 11)
Led by Rod Maycock, starts at 6:30 and finishes at 8:00
Company & Senior Section (boys Aged 11 18)
Led by Steve Phillips, starts at 7:45 and finishes at 9:45
The programme is exciting and varied. Boys play some sport (usually football) and then have teaching on a variety of subjects on things that will be useful to them now or in later life.
Other activities include: competitions against other local BB Companies, Outdoor Activity Weekends, Mountain Biking, Swimming, and a visit to Kids Kingdom.
The object of the Boys Brigade is the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self respect and all that tends towards a true Christian Manliness.

We have over 60 girls attending each Monday night during school term time. Our programme includes craft, drama, cooking, singing, games, and loads of other fun activities. During the summer months we also run a range of outdoor activities like going to the beach, cycling, swimming and barbeques.
